Improved Character Sheet v2.0

Hey everyone, I've got an even better version of this character sheet now! You can check it out here.

Or here's the download link:
d20 Despot Advanced Character Sheet v3.0

But, if you prefer version 1.0, read on.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It's been a year since I posted my original improved character sheet, and it has become the most viewed post on my blog (hey, last week we broke 5,000 total all-time blog views!).  So it's about time I updated it.
Here's the d20 Despot Improved Character Sheet v2.0.  <= Download it there, folks!
(Edit: Also, here's the first page with D&D 3.5 Edition skills: Download Here.  Sadly, in that version, the "Special Abilities" and "Conditional Skill Modifiers" sections have been sacrificed on the altar of 3.5's humongous skill list.  Fair warning: it still has the CMB and CMD stuff on it, but if you're playing 3.5 you'd damn well better be bringing those rules in instead of grappling with the grapple rules.)
Read on for more info about it and the changes/improvements I've made.
Page 1: The Important Stuff
Not many changes to the first page here:
  • I've streamlined some of the design, especially around the Hit Points area, and used Photoshop to clean up some of the rough edges left behind by the fact that I created this in Microsoft Word.
  • Added a line for 'vision/sense' in the upper right above the 'speed' section.  Use it to record if you have darkvision or low-light vision, tremorsense, scent, or even to record that your character is nearsighted or blind.
  • In the general 'defenses' area, down next to the Armor Class stuff, I've added check boxes for Evasion and Uncanny Dodge (and the improved versions of those abilities).
  • Down in the bottom right, I've removed the 'Languages' section (see Page 2, below) and added in a section where you can record useful special abilities that you want to remember.  Of course, there is still a full section for Special Abilities on Page 2, but here you can track your uses of that ability per day.  For instance: "Wild Shape, used 4 hours of 6 total." or "Channel Positive Energy 3d6, 3/7."
  • Right next to it is a place to record the number of points in your pool and how many you've used today, whether that pool be Ki, Arcane, Grit, or whatever.
Page 2: Character Info
Alright, here's where the changes start getting big.  Obviously, I've chucked the inventory section onto its own page (see Page 3, below).  So what are the improvements here?
Greatly expanded 'Feats' section.  Not only is it wider by a third, it has grown from 14 lines to 20 lines, which should be more than enough space for a 20th level human fighter to have all his feats recorded, with notes on the more complicated ones.  Plus, right below, there is a place to list your weapon proficiencies and some check boxes to note whether you are proficient with Light, Medium, or Heavy armor or shields and tower shields (sorry, people who are only proficient with bucklers!)
What a coincidence, the Special Abilities section shrunk from 20 lines to 14 lines!  But it also got wider by a third, so there's still plenty of space for your special abilities.
What's that blank box up there in the upper right?  It's for drawing your character portrait!  Or, if you hate drawing faces, maybe you can draw your coat of arms, your deity's holy symbol, or the sigil of your adventuring party.
To the right of that, there are some prompts for character backstory.  Info on your parents, your family or clan, your siblings, your relationships, your allegiance, your personality, previous occupation, reason for adventuring, and greatest flaw.  This kind of thing is fun to think about, and having it on the character sheet can prompt novice role-players into thinking more about their characters.
Big ol' notes section
Below that is the table for keeping track of your language proficiencies, as I recently detailed in my post about better language rules.  And if you don't want to use my totally awesome house rules, feel free to just use it to record the languages you know.
Bigger 'Experience Points' section, to help fend off eraser-wear.
Page 3: Inventory
Now your inventory has the entire page that it deserves!  That said, it turns out I didn't... really... expand the space for recording your inventory.  Hmmm...  But it's still better.  Why?  Well:
Party Loot.  Oftentimes, while playing D&D, your adventuring party will just record the loot they get on a separate sheet of paper called the 'party loot sheet', to be divvied up later when they get back to town.  But more often than not, it just becomes a way to carry a lot of loot without anyone actually carrying it. Well, now there's a separate section on every character sheet where people can put loot that is to be divvied up later (including coins), but they are actually carrying it.  Now your group can't defy the laws of physics without purchasing actual physics-defying extradimensional storage spaces.  And if one of the party members goes tumbling into a pool of bubbling lava, you know exactly what part of the party loot he took with him.  This is also a handy section for recording what stuff you guys are keeping in your wagon, if you are the type of adventuring party that likes traveling with a wagon.
Food and Drink.  Here is the section for recording all your rations, water supplies, and alcoholic beverages!  I think I've already said enough about this in my recent blog post on the subject, so I won't bore entertain you with the details here.
I actually didn't change this one at all.  I think it still holds up pretty well.
~~~~~~

Well, that's the new, improved, Pathfinder-compatible advanced character sheet.  I hope you all get a lot of mileage out of it.  Again, feel free to drop any questions, comments, or suggestions in the comments section below this blog post.

And tune in tomorrow (Tuesday) for d20 Despot's 1 year anniversary!  Thanks for the page views, and I hope these posts are actually helping someone out there!

Thanks,

your d20 despot v2.0
